Respite care is short term care that helps a family take a break from the daily routing and stress. It can be provided in the client's home or in a variety of other settings. It is an essential part of the overall support families may need to keep their child with a disability or chronic illness at home. Typically, someone comes to the home and sits or cares for the family member. Depending on the level of care needed, the employee will need a wide range of skills. Some facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living places offer to care for a family member in need for an extended period of time. Relaxation, Enjoyment, Stability, Preservation, Involvement, Time Off, and Enrichment is the acronym we have developed for RESPITE. It describes the benefits of respite care to the immediate family once it is taken on by National Staffing. Home care includes various services where a patient lives. Patients can receives home care whether they live in personal residences with or without family members, or in assisted living facilities. The purpose of home care is to promote, maintain, and restore a patient's health, while reducing the effects of disease or disability. The goal of home care on our side is to provide for the needs of the patient to allow the patient to remain living at home, regardless of age or disability. Needs can vary from light housekeeping to assisting with personal care. These services may be needed after surgery or needed because one may be unable to complete these tasks by himself or herself. If a patient needs skilled home care, National Staffing and Home Care has Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses that can provide the necessary services being asked for. A more in-depth description of the RN and the LPN's services is included in the "Services" tab located on the left.
