The list of services provided by National Staffing and Home Care range from a variety of duties. From home makers to speech therapists, National Staffing can fulfill a wide range of customer needs.

Home Maker:
The Home Maker provides patient and client care following a written plan developed by a registered nurse. A home maker must have a high school diploma or a GED to be qualified. Also, acceptable references from past employers must be apparent. The home maker must follow all written instructions of the Case Manage and within the physician's instructions. He or she must perform activities like helping the client with eating and dressing, applying the principles of good nutrition to meal plan and preparation, observing and reporting client changes in the patient's condition to his or her supervisor, reminding the patient to take medications, performing light laundry or housekeeping, and supervising the activities of the client's daily life. A good home maker must also be able to work with the patient's family with maturity, compassion, empathy, and confidentiality at all times. Recording all pertinent care and observations is another requirement of the home maker. Also, training sessions provided by National Staffing must be completed before taking the field.

Home Health Aide:
A home health aide must have a high school diploma, acceptable references from past employers, and satisfactory completion of an aide training program. A certified nurse assistant's license must also be a prerequisite of applying to be a home health aide. The HHA provides hands-on patient care and written documentation of same as directed by the Case Manager, the RN, MD, or therapist. While on the job, the HHA must follow all written instructions of the Case Manager as developed from the physician's treatment plan within the limits of the Agency's policies for HHA's. The personal care and household services that are necessary for the client as ordered by the Case Manager or the RN may include: bathing; linen change; oral hygiene, hair care, skin care, nail care (NO CLIPPING); position with emphasis on maintaing good body alignment; taking/recording temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressures; asses and record the patient's level of consciousness; observe and report changes in the client's condition to the supervisor; assist with active and passive ranges of motion and other exercises as instructed by the RN/PT; assist with non-sterile dressings and soaks; supervise, manage, and support the patient's activities of daily living and encourage self-help skills that increase independence with the limits of the existing conditions; assist the patient with the self-administration of prescribed medications under the supervision of the Staff Nurse; and many other activities within the Agency's requirements with the job title. The HHA must also be able to work with the family with maturity, compassion, empathy, and confidentiality at all times, while also consulting and communicating with other members of National Staffing to provide continuity and coordinated patient care.

Certified Nurse Assistant:
The prerequisites of a certified nurse assistant are a high school diploma, satisfactory completion of a certified basic aide training program, a passing grade of certified state test, and a valid registration of certification within the state of Michigan. The CENA must perform a wide range of services that can include: bathing; linen change; oral hygiene, hair care, skin care, nail care (NO CLIPPING); position with emphasis on maintaing good body alignment; taking/recording temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressures; asses and record the patient's level of consciousness; observe and report changes in the client's condition to the supervisor; assist with active and passive ranges of motion and other exercises as instructed by the RN/PT; assist with non-sterile dressings and soaks; supervise, manage, and support the patient's activities of daily living and encourage self-help skills that increase independence with the limits of the existing conditions; assist the patient with the self-administration of prescribed medications under the supervision of the Staff Nurse; and many other activities within the Agency's requirements with the job title. Medical Assistant:
A medical assistant must have a high school diploma or GED, satisfactory references, satisfactory completion of an approved program of study and internship, and current CPR certification. The duties of a medical assistant include providing medical care and other services, while also having the possibility of assisting physicians in examining patients. While assisting a physician, a medical assistant can have a wide range of duties and responsibilities that can include: preparation of treatment rooms for the examination of patients; draping patients with a covering and position the instruments and equipment that will be used; handle instruments and supplies to a physician; interview, receive, instruct, reassure, and comfort patients; check and record the patient's pulse, blood pressure, temperature, weight, height, and other medical data; operate equipment such as EKG and x-ray machines to administer diagnostic tests; administer injections and medications; collect blood samples and other specimens; assist with specific laboratory procedures and some surgical procedures using proper aseptic techniques; arrange hospital admissions and laboratory procedures as requested by the physician; and instruct patients in the use of diet, medication, and other treatments. A medical assistant may also have duties within office management. The list of responsibilities within office management for a medical assistant can include: scheduling appointments; receiving money for bills; keeping medical and financial records; completing insurance forms; preparing supply inventories; perform general secretarial tasks as well as assist with general office management; perform medical transcriptions; prepare office, medical, and laboratory supplies/inventories to determine items to be stocked; and dealing with representatives from various health-related businesses.

Licensed Practical Nurse:
A licensed practical nurse is responsible for the delivery of competent, quality patient care via the development, implementation, and evaluation of individual patient care plans. He or she is the liaison of development between the Agency and the patients with their families. Before applying for the LPN position, he or she must have a minimum of one year work experience, current licenser in your state of employment, satisfactory references, completion of Agency LPN Qualifying Exam and Medication Tests, and current CPR certification. The LPN's duties involve staffing, even though the LPN remains an employee of National Staffing. While at hospitals and nursing homes, the LPN functions according to the facility's job description. Since facilities vary in their job descriptions, the LPN will be informed by a coordinator prior to the assignment if he or she will be in charge position. Private duty is available in three areas for an LPN, which are hospitals, nursing homes, and homes. When performing duties within this aspect of the job, an LPN must prepare meals and perform light housekeeping tasks. Nursing notes are requires on all cases and are reviewed by the LPN Field Supervisor. These notes must be updated according to the patient's conditions and must be sent into the office on a weekly basis. Nursing notes are important because they are legal documents which are kept as part of the client's file. Medication will be given by the LPN or the family.

The education that a physical therapist must obtain includes a bachelor's degree in physical therapy and a Michigan Physical Therapist License. The PT must plan, implement, and evaluate patient care programs through the use of selected physical therapy procedures and tasks. Also, he or she must direct and aid patients in therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education, and functional training. He or she must also be able to administer muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests to assist physicians and other health personnel in determining diagnosis, prognosis and patient progress. Coordinating physical therapy activities with other services, agencies, and personnel involved in patient care management is another duty of the PT's. Many other duties lie in the hands of the PT; however, he or she must be ready to perform anything that is described in the client's plan or that is informed by the supervisor.

Occupational Therapist:
The qualifications of an Occupational Therapist include a B.S. degree in occupational therapy and national registration as an occupational therapist. The OT must plan, implement, and evaluate patient care programs through the use of selected physical therapy procedures and tasks. Also, he or she must direct and aid patients in therapeutic exercises, muscle re-education, and functional training. He or she must also be able to administer muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests to assist physicians and other health personnel in determining diagnosis, prognosis and patient progress. Coordinating physical therapy activities with other services, agencies, and personnel involved in patient care management is another duty of the OT's. Many other duties lie in the hands of the OT; however, he or she must be ready to perform anything that is described in the client's plan or that is informed by the supervisor.

Respiratory Therapist:
A Respiratory Therapist must complete an approved respiratory therapy program, register as a respiratory therapist trough the National Board for Respiratory Care, worked for one year, and completed the required training programs. The duties and responsibilities of an RT include: performing oximetry, capnography, hemodynamic measurements, calorimetry, intermittent and continuous aerosol therapy, oxygen and other gas therapy, humidity therapy, intermittent positive pressure breathing treatments, and the administration of medications used in respiratory procedures in accordance with physician's orders; providing instruction on the proper use of equipment to staff, patients, and patients' families; reviewing and discussing treatment methods for the individual patient with the health care staff; and assist with the orientation and training of new staff members. Even though all the duties are not listed within the job description, there are many other duties that the RT is responsible within the job title.

Phlebotomist :
The qualifications of a Phlebotomy Technician are a high school diploma or GED, satisfactory completion of a nationally recognized board program, valid certification, and acceptable references. The Phlebotomist must perform a variety of venipuncture techniques involved in the collection of blood specimens from the patients for laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. A Phlebotomy Technician must be able to draw blood using venipuncture and standard techniques with tubes, sleeves, tourniquets, syringes, and butterfly needs. He or she must also confer with patients to obtain information for laboratory records, explain procedures, and allay fears to elicit cooperation. A phlebotomist performs various quality control procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations. While labeling and storing blood samples for subsequent analysis by the clinical staff, he or she must be able to transport and secure samples in appropriate containers to clinical laboratories.

Social Worker:
A Social Worker at National Staffing must have a Master's degree in social work from an accredited school and current licenser by the Michigan Social Work and Certification Licenser Board. The general description of this job title includes providing a variety of casework and group work social services to patients and their families when personal, social, or environmental difficulties exist that predispose illness or interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical or psychiatric care. The specific duties and responsibilities of a Social Worker include: interviewing patients, their families, and other concerned parties to obtain information about personal, social, and environmental history; making home visits for additional information as required; evaluating data gathered in terms of the medical or psychiatric plan of treatment, available social service programs, and knowledge of the casework or group-work; participating in periodic staff conferences to present case histories; conferring with other members of the therapy team to develop comprehensive evaluations or plan pertinent therapy programs to provide maximum benefits for each patient; preparing and maintaing a case record for each patient to describe the nature of social problems and services suggested; assisting patients and their families through individual or group conferences to understand, accept, and follow therapy plans; providing services planned to improve or restore patients to optimum social and mental health; maintaining liaison with community agencies while participating in area activities related to health and welfare services; and accepting on call responsibilities for after gours coverage if required.

Dietary/Nutritional Therapist:
He or she must have a Bachelor's degree in dietetics and nutrition and must be registered with the American Dietetics Association Registry. A Dietary Therapist must be able to conduct and implement comprehensive nutritional assessment for patients at nutritional risk. Also, he or she must be able to interpret biochemical and clinical date, while also screening, identifying, and monitoring patients at nutritional risk. The Nutritionist provides a variety of nutritional therapy intervention methods to resolve nutritional crisis and to ensure health maintenance. Specific job descriptions of this title are provided when applying for the job at the company's office.

Massage Therapist:
In order to be a Massage Therapist at National Staffing, he or she must have graduated from an accredited massage school and hold a Michigan Massage License. The duties and responsibilities of an MT at National Staffing include: providing safe, appropriate, and effective massage techniques; performing health history on patients and updating them prior to each session; explaining procedures and applying techniques appropriate to patient needs and preferences; observing patient's reaction to massage and modifying the techniques in proportion to the patient's reaction, which solicits feedback; documenting all sessions performed according to established guidelines; maintaining client confidentiality and sensitivity to age and gender related issues during all patient interactions; reporting any unusual patient interactions to the supervisor immediately; scheduling and maintaining appointments, while also assisting in the collection of fees; consulting with appropriate treatment staff regarding treatment plans if necessary; and providing massage orientation services and seminars upon request.

Speech Therapist:
A Speech Therapist at National Staffing requires a Bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy, a Michigan Speech Therapist License. and educational training within the company. The duties required within this job include: administering a variety of tests to evaluate and diagnose speech and language disorders; coordinating findings with medical, social, educational, and behavioral diagnostic data; interpreting test results for clients, parents, and other concerned parties; treating a variety of speech and language impairments to include functional articulation disorders involving cleft palate, cerebral palsy, aphasia, and impaired hearing; acting as a speech consultant to medical, educational, and other professional groups, and maintaining records and files reflecting up to date patient progress.
